Tekno and Amy Rose: STC's answer to Girl Power in the 90's

Tekno, a green canary, used to work as a weapons engineer for Robotnik, before 'breaking free' and using her technical know-how to assist her for the good of the people, rather than Mobius's oppressive dictator. She was rescued by Shortfuse the Cybernik, a renegade robot warrior that she once helped to create, on the way to a Badnik processing plant. Teaming up with Shortfuse (or 'Shorty'), and later becoming great friends with Amy, Tekno has become a great asset to the Emerald Hill freedom fighters with her unusual talent.

Amy Rose, to use her correct name, lived in the Emerald Hill Zone, and became involved with the freedom fighters after Doctor Robotnik mistook her for Sonic's girlfriend. She has become a valuable part of the team, her no-nonsense attitude and use of common sense enabling her to step in as temporary 'leader' of the Emerald Hill freedom fighters when Sonic has not been available. She has an open affection for Sonic, and is truly persistent when letting him know just how she feels about him, much to his annoyance!
